1 day Photo Explorations 2026

My workshops focus on learning by doing and draw inspiration from my extensive travels and experience with photography. My format – What will I learn is the most asked question? First – we will look at “seeing” photographically, the ability to recognize a composition and how to capture it. And all those f-stops and shutter speeds – different combinations create different effects. We will explore those combinations then put them into practice. We will look at potential compositions from an artistic perspective rather than just documenting your subjects – how lens selection can change the dynamics of your images. This an great opportunity bounce ideas off each other, compare notes and just do some shooting without the day-to-day distractions of life – this day belongs to you.
Custom Adventures
Looking for a a time to explore your photography that focuses on your needs – don’t like crowds – want individual attention – work in an environment at your pace – then drop me a line. I can provide you with a custom exploration that works for you. I cover all the bases – starting with pre-visualization excercises, to image capture and post processing all from the comfort of my studio on Lake of Bays. We shoot in one of the Canada’s largest provincial parks, Algonquin – 20 minutes from my studio – let me know. Prices upon request

Following the Group of Seven – Along Lake Superior & Beyond
The Group of Seven’s journey started before they formed the Group in 1920. The watershed moment could have been 1913, when
Harris and MacDonald visited the Albright Museum in Buffalo, New York to view the Exhibition of Contemporary Scandinavian Art.
Join me for a 90 minute talk to find out more about that museum visit and my travels to the locations they painted. Stories from parts of Ontario,
to Algoma, Algonquin Park, Canada’s Northwest Territories and further north to Baffin Island.
A note of thanks for an absolutely awesome presentation with a very strong educational components and showing us the beauty that is all around us. R Pereux
“I have to tell you it was one of the best presentations I have seen at the club. Your images are spectacular but it was your talk and enthusiasm for the subject matter that sealed the deal” LZ London.ON
