The Photographer
I am originally from the small town of Hudson, Quebec. With a background in tourism, I have achieved international publication of my work, created award-winning photographs and a strong passion for wilderness. Early in my career I started out as a photographer’s assistant in Basel, Switzerland, which laid the foundation for my success today. I have photographed for Ontario Tourism, Parks Canada, Ontario Parks and many organizations actively supporting tourism. Over the last decade, my camera has explored many remote and wilderness areas including Antarctica, the Arctic, Northern Quebec, Northwest Territories as well as Greenland, all in the role of expedition photographer & photographer in residence. In October 2012, I was nominated and elected into the Royal Canadian Geographical Society’s College of Fellows and in 2016 The Globe and Mail and Lexus profiled myself along with 9 other artists. I co-authored “An Artists and Photographers Guide to Wild Ontario” and also a contributor to a number of published books. My work can be seen at Ontario Parks French River Visitor Centre & Arrowhead Visitor Centre and many of my images are prominently displayed in private homes. As an avid teacher, I instruct photography part time at Loyalist College, run photography workshops and write for northern tourism organizations as well maintain a personal photographic gallery at my studio. I am on Fanshawe College’s Advisory board for their Outdoor program. Most recently I was selected by Destination Canada to be profiled along with 13 others as “authentic” Canadians. My work has created opportunities for me to speak on a variety of topics about my travels and instructional skills.
